Big jackpot got won last week at the Joker by the SPECKIES, so well done to them and it means that our biggest jackpot tonight is at the Monkey. Ninety pounds on offer.
Here’s the cheat tip for the Monkey, it’s some rotten old pop garage thing from 2000. You don’t hear stuff like this very much these days except in Dr Paul Quiz music rounds
Meanwhile, I listed the May dead pool entries this morning. Have a look at the post for more detail, but basically all the smart money has moved onto George Bush Sr. (the older, less dippit of the Bush prez duo)
Don’t stay inside crying. Come out to the pub tonight and win all the moneys.
Just think: £180 at the Joker. Sweet and nice. This could alleviate a power-bill problem or if all is sorted on the bills front, you could buy yourself a wee day out to Newcastle on the train and have plenty of money left to get pished when you arrive there.
You know, to fit in.
This might help: the cheat tip for tonight’s music round at the Joker. It’s Gomez who were popular for a short time round about 1999.
And when I say “popular”, what I mean is that this song got to number 21 in the charts and was more or less their biggest hit.
The video is a good idea – a recreation of the old health and safety films that used to fill up the gaps on TV between ‘Mister Benn’ and ‘Nationwide’.
Anyway remember the wisdom: if you can possibly arrange it, bring someone older and someone younger to the quiz to be on your team. It’s one thing that an really make a difference to your score.
Shaka Zulu! We’re up to £150 at the Joker and one of the star attractions at the Joker is seeing boss-man Roddy’s face at the moment we find out if its a rollover (boyish delight) or a jackpot (raging scowl).
Don’t miss his involuntary reaction tonight!
Meanwhile come and see what’s gong on at the Monkey. The new manager has thinner legs than the old one but, apart from that, things seem to progressing normally. There are still plenty of beers and plenty of students strung out on couches through the back like some kind of weird 1969 Amsterdam scene.
Here’s the music round cheat for tonight (which applies to the Joker). It’s the Ting Tings:
I like the song and I like the video. Both are catchy and simple, it’s the kind of thing we should be sending to Eurovision (LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO)
Two rollovers last midweek sets up a cheeky Wednesday for your pocket. One-fifty at the Monkey. That’s like.. great.
How about the music round cheat? Here it is:
This is a modern song but I like it. I thought it was much more produced, but it’s pretty bare. The video is good as well. Nothing really happens except a lift gets faster and people become more extreme versions of themselves as the lift speeds up.
