Tuesday 13th February

I asked a question last night about Harambe and I thought everyone would have remembered the sad story of the world’s favourite gorilla, unfortunately dispatched to monkey heaven when a stupid child ventured into his enclosure at Cincinnati Zoo and, being non-verbal and thus immune to reason, Harambe had to die by gun.

It was big at the time. In fact, it was all anyone talked about for two weeks. I still get teams who name themselves after our fallen primate comrade.

But also, it seems that a lot of people have forgotten.

I suppose the 24-hour news cycle will do that to an animal story from eight years ago. There’s only so much grieving the world can handle.

Music Round Clue for Safari Lounge:

Here’s a song by OUTKAST that’s in tonight’s music round at Safari Lounge. Twenty years old now, by the way. And in the tradition of rap videos, the men are wearing more clothes than the women. That’s also pretty much the plot of the lyric.
