These are the last Wednesday quizzes of the year. In addition: tonight and tomorrow will be your ONLY chances to play DEAD POOL for January. I didn’t get the forms out last week and was going to start on MOnday, only to be swiped by the bad flu.

Bad flu has receded enough for me to do the quizzes tonight but I probably won’t be dancing.

Gordon who does the quiz at Harmonium has reported no illness, so I’m sure he’ll be dancing to keep you entertained in between questions.

The Styx song in tonight’s music round at the Harmonium quiz is a timeless work of beautiful genius.

It’s unquestionably a great song but like many classics of its era, becomes somewhat tarnished by youtube comment left by fat old plonks saying things like “This is real music. Everything today is plastic rap and sucks.”

The Childish Gambino song in the music round at the Monkey which sounded to me, at first, just another modern rap song and a bit plasticky, but I have to admit liking the video. Maybe I like the song a bit better now, after hearing it twice.

And I was going to type something about the old versus the new but, fuck, I’ve just realised this tune is four years old itself. To me that’s nowt – to some of your it’s a lifetime.

Put it this way: we all die someday.
