I made the mistake a few weeks ago of clicking on a frontline action video from the Ukraine-Russia war. Now if I look at Twitter, that’s all it wants to show me: reel after reel of young men getting shot at close range and/or blown up by drones which record their final moments and then post them to the internet.
Some of these videos take place in trenches. First world war vibes, more than a hundred years later.
And people wonder why the youth don’t want to get drafted or fight “for the country”. You can’t blame them. It might have been the same if social media had existed in 1914.
