There’s a couple of dominances developing in certain venues around the town.
Not that one team really ever totally dominates. It’s like the Roman Empire. It comes and it it goes
Here’s a roundup of some of the big names currently making the scene:
MONDAYS
BAMPOTS – pretty successful at Amber Rose, although best run of the year is just two wins in a row. Weaknesses: Unknown – possibly history questions.
TUESDAYS
PEPEEJA – Dominant at Safari Lounge for most of last year and began 2024 with four straight wins. To be honest, the rest of Safari Lounge give them an easy ride. Weaknesses: Team dynamic. Susceptible to internal strife.
WEDNESDAYS
SIMPLE MINDS – used to come second behind Pepeeja at Safari, but have found their own winning niche down at Musselburgh at the Ship Inn. Weaknesses: vulnerable on the music round.
THURSDAYS
SIMPLE MINDS – A Completely different set of people compared to the ‘Simple Minds’ that quiz at the Ship Inn. And none of them are Jim Kerr. This Simple Minds is a new-ish team but haven’t wasted time getting to number one up at the Brass Grange. Weaknesses: As yet undetermined.
SUNDAYS
CHAMELEONS – A great team wherever they go, but possibly most successful at our newest quiz in Portobello – at the Porty Vault.
