How can we feel pleasure unless we feel pain?
I guess this human axiom explains activities of people who are into pain and bondage. It’s not for me. I get enough pain in real life.
Not traumatic serious stuff, not psychological pain or anything difficult. I just have a bit of a sore foot. No drama.
But even when I didn’t use to have a sore foot, I never really wanted anyone to hurt me or whip me. And I’ve never wanted to dish it out either. Actually, maybe I don’t understand that stuff at all.
Anyway – I was just thinking about the relationship between pleasure and pain because of the meme I was just making (above) of the lady crying because she’s got one wrong answer in the jackpot round.
Her pain is real now, but one day she’ll taste the flavour of WIN and it will be ever sweeter when she does because of the bitter sting of tears that she felt this time.
There are different ways to feel jackpot regret. There was a kid at the Percy the other night (I think he’s called Joe) who got all the answers right but didn’t hand them in.
I was told about this afterwards by his family and I saw Joe’s sad wee face. I think he was half-expecting me to say “Awwww, poor kid – here have the money anyway”
But it doesn’t work like that. I’m not Santa Claus. Speaking of whom, I bet he’s into weird stuff.
