Cheat Clues

The music round at the Strathie tonight contains this piece of music by Manic Street Preachers:

The Manics, massive back in the day – no one has heard of them now

The Manic Street Preachers are a funny old band in terms of popularity.

In the 90s and early 00s they were total box office – the biggest band in Britain and they ruled the charts.

But then one day, their time was over, and now it seems that no one has heard of them.

Folk under 30 have NO IDEA who the Manic Street Preachers are.

This doesn’t make me sad or happy.

I neither hate nor love “The Manics” (as folk my age sometimes call them). I like their Elvis song.

I’m just interested in the phenomenon of massive-to-missing.

I think it happens all the time.

For example: Travis, Gladiators, Vienetta.

What are your favourite things-that-used-to-be-massive?

Leave a comment or just come to quiz and tell me to my face. Oh yeah.

Love,
