And now, here’s the cheat item for tonight’s music round at the Persevere. It’s the boy band you’ve all conveniently forgotten about: One True Voice:

The picture answer (for the Tolbooth) is more interesting ,

Annie Oakley was born in a log cabin in 1860 on the Ohio / Illinois border and became famous as a sharpshooter, making money at fairs, circuses and exhibitions.

Here fame grew to the extent that she toured Europe. One story says that she shot the ash off a fag held by the German Kaiser, at his request.

You see, kids: that’s how it used to be before health and safety took over. And it wasn’t on youtube or pay per view either. You had to BE there.

It was success all the way for Oakley and husband Frank Butler. She made shit loads of money and distributed it all to family and charities.

When she died in 1926, her husband was so grieved that he stopped eating and he died 18 days later. You don’t get that kind of shit these days either. Nice one, Frank.

And of course, her life story was later turned into the Irving Berlin musical ‘Annie Get Your Gun’
