Normally Tuesday is my easy day with one quiz only, but I have an extra gig as I’m standing in for Isla at Porty Tap. She’ll be back next week.
Portobello is fairly close, in global terms, to Niddrie. I wonder of there will be rockets and street violence?
I don’t know the bus routes out that way but with Porty and Niddrie being sort-of-close to each other, I’m presuming there is a direct bus from one to the other. Maybe the 49? Perhaps the 21? I don’t know.
In fact, it’s funny that when I think about bus routes outside of my usual numbers, it’s all a bit mysterious.
I thought I knew the buses well but, having thought about it for a few minutes, I realise my mastery of the Lothian system is somewhat limited.
My zone of total bus knowledge is the North and the centre and a bit of the East of the city. My zone of mystery is the South and the West.
Buses I could confidently tell you the whole route: 8, 23
Buses I could easily tell you large sections of the route: 1, 5,7,9,10,11,14,16, 21,26,27,29,49
Buses where I range from vague to clueless: the rest of them.
