QUIZ NEWS: The quiz at Oliver’s is over. It wasn’t the right pub, or the right time or day, or something. Not quite sure. The quiz is successful in many places but it doesn’t work every single time. That’s quiz life.
Anyway, Stewart D is keen to get back in the game so if you know a pub that needs the Dr Paul Quiz, let me know.

Apart from that I’ve had a wild weekend.
Wild Thing #1:
I went with my daughter to the model train exhibition yesterday (it’s on today as well, up at George Watson’s school in Morningside.
Obviously, this was a hotspot for weirdos but they were nicer weirdos than the weirdos we met at the My Little Pony expo last year. They were far less socially awkward than the Pony people: just men (and some women) who like to build model landscapes.
Fair enough.
Harmless.
No serial killers at all (95% confidence).
Wild Thing #2:
Then we finished watching ‘Doctor Zhivago’ last night.
This film is three hours long so luckily we’d already watched an hour of it last weekend. Has anyone ever watched a three-hour film in one go? Without getting a cup of tea or going for a pee?
The film itself? Very good. I like a nice, slow, old film with big quiet landscape shots and quality music.
Also, when watching something with the youngster, I appreciate when the rapes, murders, starvations and battle scenes are handled with a relatively light touch.
Thanks David Lean. If I make a film version of the quiz, I’ll get him to direct it.
