Everyone knows about the Fourth of July, but did you know it was Canada’s national day YESTERDAY – the first on July. Canadians are people too.
I did know that, but I’ve just looked up a list of national days and I did NOT realise that 1st July is also celebrated as the national day in Burundi, Somalia and Rwanda.
Looking further down the list, I see the Philippines’ Independence Day is on the fourth of July, just like the Americans. And who do they celebrate their independence from? From the USA.
That’s good – I’ll be using that.
