I’ve been pretty much indoors for two days. It’s been blissful.
I was on holiday the other week and that was nice and all, but overrated compared to the purer pleasure of staying at home and doing nowt.
Staying at home and having a kip is all the best bits of holiday (rest) without all the annoying bits (travel).
Obviously travel comes with new places and new experiences, but I can get this from reading Wikipedia, writing quiz questions, listening to something on Radio 4 or reading a book – all of which can be done at home, at minimum expense and with no queues.
In typing the above I think I have finally turned the corner and become a proper grumpy old man.
I’m comfortable with that. I’m leaning into it. Why the hell not?
Tonight involves my favourite kind of travel: a fifteen minute bus ride to get to the Persevere. See you there!
