Summer is the best. I wish I could be outside more, but I have all this quiz stuff to do.
The heavy trees are my favourite. Big monstrous greenies, full of leaf and hogging the sky.
One of my regular bus stops is on Granton Road, where it crosses the cycle path. The trees that grow from down on the path have their tops at the Granton Road level and above.
If I’m a few minutes early, I can stare over the parapet and be in the canopy for a while. This is good at any time of year, but Summer just rules. All that leaf.
Also: I can come home from a quiz in daylight. Summer is King!
One of the other aspects of summer is that the Brass Monkey Drummond Street is usually a bit quieter in June/July since all the students have gone home to get their pants washed. So it’s just a wee bit easier to get your hands on that win and that jackpot: £150 tonight!
