So, I think I managed to get through the first day of Scotland’s thought crime laws without getting reported.

It surely can’t last for long. I hate so many things and people and I’m bound to be caught out sooner or later by the snoops.

Here’s a brief list of some of the people and things that I hate:

  • People on the bus playing videos on their phone at high volume.
  • Jools Holland
  • People who go looking for it
  • Thugs and criminals
  • The political class
  • People in advertising who laugh or dance or sing, simply because they are using product X
  • Coldplay
  • People who insist that “no one carries cash these days”.

Now that’s committed to print, will Humza Yousaf’s thought-police be making a call? I’ll wait and see.

Regarding Coldplay, there was a complaint from last Thursday brought to me from the Strathie via Eric where people were grumpy because Coldplay appeared as an answer (in the list round) and some people were under the impression that the Coldplay rule was still in force at the quiz.

This USED to be a rule but I dropped it a few months ago. It was one day when I was listening to Elbow that I realised there was even worse offences than Coldplay and that they’re just a band doing their best, whatever that is.

Who am I to single them out?

So it IS now possible for Coldplay to be an answer at the quiz, the ban has been lifted. I think this is worth re-iterating for anyone who missed the original announcement.

By the way, I’m standing in for Isla at Porty Tap tonight so if you want to catch me out for a hate crime and report me to the police, that’s where to find me first tonight.

This is DODGY and their 90 s hit which you still here. Annoying, but the clip will only last twenty seconds or so in the music round at Porty Tap tonight.
