So obviously Jesus Christ rises from the dead today. Religion is a complicated business but I’ll try and summarise the implications of this miracle thus:
- Clocks have gone forwards by one hour. It’s mainly automatic these days – but CHECK!
- You get a chocolate egg.
- The Porty Vault is OFF tonight because they have some special Easter thing. Back as normal next week.
- The Paradise Palms quiz is at the earlier time of 7pm because they have some special Easter thing later on. Not ideal, but there you go.
- Hot Toddy and Persevere quizzes are unaffected (because both venues are Godless)
Personally I enjoy a bit of old time religion. It’s righteous, baby.
In fact, I even went along to the Passion Play in the park yesterday, cos quiz regular Jaeden was playing Caiaphas, the high priest who tries to get Jesus put to death by the Romans.
To be honest, I was cheering for Jaeden cos the guy playing Jesus seemed a bit smug. Jesus is meant to be the coolest guy ever and this particular saviour just seemed a bit up himself. You know, from where I was standing.
Anyway, he got nailed up in the end so all’s well that ends well.
Best jackpot tonight is £120. If Jesus won that money he’d buy everyone a drink but he wouldn’t act the big man about it. He’d get it done quietly, I reckon.
