Sundays are FOUR QUIZ territory now. Big news.
Paradise Palms started last week with a good turnout. Quite hip that place. Good job Bonni and Stewart are hosting it. The place is a bit too cool for me.
I’m classic. I’m Old school.
Sometimes, when I find myself tutting under my breath at youth misdemeanours such as listening to Tik Tok on the bus without headphones, I wonder what will annoy these annoying youths lot when themselves become older.
Because they’re already annoying, whatever it is that annoys them in the future will have to be really really annyoing. I wonder what it will be. People with pet tigers? People with futurustic perfumes?
Anyway, it won’t bother me. I’ll be dead.
Maybe that’s ultimately the point of death: to get you out of the game before things become really realy really annoying.
Just imagine how annoying the year 2024 would be if you’d been born in 1736, like James Watt.
First part your life: you invent the (improved) steam engine. Everyone thinks you’re great. Life is good. But then you get old and before you know it everyone’s listening to jazz, flying in aeroplanes and then listening to Tik Tok videos without their headphones and you’re just some grumpy old fud that no one cares about.
And if they DO find out who you are, they give you a hard time because your “marvellous” invention led to a massive fossil fuels industry and now you’re the bad guy.
Aaaggh. Annoying. Maybe it would be better just to be dead.
Having said all that, I hope to live for some time to come. Including today’s quizzes. Come along and try us!
