Sunday 11th February, 2024

Sunday is now a big quiz day with Porty Vault and Paradise Palms being added tp our roster for the holiest day of the week.

Of course, it’s not really about the winning, is it? Here are the reasons people come to the quiz regularly, from greatest importance > least important:

  • *** Regular friends meetup.
  • *** Trivia challenge
  • *** If the prizes happen to come, that’s cool.
  • *** Let’s see if we can beat [INSERT NAME OF BASTARDS WHO “ALWAYS WIN]*
  • *** Nice food and booze
  • *** Great bus and tram connections
  • *** Nice food and booze
  • *** Dr Paul hilarious chat.

*By the way – there aren’t many examples of a team always winning. “Always” can sometimes be “often”, but never “always”

And Speaking of buses and trams, did you see that they want to close the cycle path from Craigleith to Roseburn to put a tram on it.

No way man! Join the resistance.

Also, they had so many roads closed around North Bridge / New St / Waverley the other night that to get to the Newsroom from Brass Grange, my taxi had to go all the way down to the bottom of the Canongate and back up Calton Road, after finding our way blocked through Jeffrey St/New St.

This doubled the usual journey and that’s why I was late starting at Newsy the other night. Sorry everyone!

On the off chance that any planners are reading this, can you please stop doing all of this stupid nonsense.

Thanks!

Music Round Clue for the Percy:

This is The Kingsmen doing their big 1960s hit song ‘Louie Louie’, which was famously indecipherable. In fact, a team of rock and roll scientists from Cambridge University have now been studying this fifty-seven years, and they still don’t know what the singer’s talking about. It’s in the music round at the Persevere tonight.
