Sunday 22nd October 2023

Hi *|FNAME|*

Well the £200 got won at Hot Toddy last week and there was great joy and celebrating and caterwauling and keel-hauling.

Possibly no keel-hauling, actually, but you get the gist.

Sunday is the day of the Lord and, as you’ll remember from Prophets, chapter 4, Isaiah Chapter 1 and Saint Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians, chapter 2 – the day of the Lord should be respected by going to pub quizzes.

It appears on at least those three occasions. It’s virtually a commandment.

And if it says so in the goddamned BIBLE, the honest-to-goodness TRUE WORD OF GOD, then who are we to argue.

Which reminds me about the evangelicals who sometimes try to join the Dr Paul Quiz Group on Facebook, possibly because there is some preacher in Africa called Dr Paul Echewe or something like that.

And somehow that leads to his followers joining my group. I’m not sure why. Then they leave some post about the word of God and then I delete it and block them. It all seems so pointless.

But then, maybe, their good works on social media will tip the balance in their favour when it comes to sizing up their lives to see whether they get into heaven or not.

I reckon I’m there already because not only do I run pub quizzes on Sundays, but my marking is scrupulously fair and I’ve never been bribed. I may not be a PRACTISING Chrstian but I know Jesus would like my quizzes.

Here are the quizzes and answers for today:
