All the good people are out midweek.

The weekend is a hellscape of suburban drinkers heading into town and drinking a lot. There are a lot of short-sleeved shirts and shouting. There is puking and there are punch-ups. You cannot get a taxi.

Contrast with the midweek: stomping ground of the urbane and the sane. Nice people drinking nicely and behaving like civilized and socialised.

Needless to say, Wednesday is the apex of this. Pub day of the Gods.
