This pop video has an empty style.

It feels less like a work of musical art and more like a commercial for a new phone which has many minutes and lots of giga-things.

In fact it’s basically one special effect repeated, and I have no problem declaring this the laziest pop video I have seen for ages.

That’s an official award but there is no trophy so don’t be hassling me for one, Chvrches.

And why the V instead of the U? The whole thing is laden with affectation. When they hit 20 years old they”ll look back and think – “Jings – we were wanks”. We all do.
