I watched Australia vs Egypt at the football the other night and it was OK, slightly disappointing, not the best game.
But can anyone think of two countries that could play against each other at this world cup with stronger visual identities than these two.
Pyramids, sphinxes, Tutankhamens versus Kangaroos, koalas and cork hats.
The World Cup is all right but perhaps it would be more fun if the players had to dress up like national stereotypes.
Wouldn’t Mexico v England tonight would be vastly improved by seeing eleven hombres in ponchos and sombreros trying to get the better of eleven city gents in bowler hats and umbrellas?
And wouldn’t Norway v Brazil be better if it the Norwegians were dressed as Vikings complete with horny helmets and the Brazilians were dressed as the Statue of Christ The Redeemer, complete with robes?
Clearly more fun.
Anyway, tonight’s football is later on and does NOT interfere with quiz tonight. See you at six…
