At last, the World Cup is finishing.
To be honest, it’s not given me too much grief over the last month-and-a-bit. The games are nice and late. It’s always worse when the matches are at European peak times (e.g. in four years time).
The best bit about the tournament being over will be the Persevere taking down the big flag-of-flags-cum-world-map things that they’ve had up this year. Some flags are well-designed and some are a bloody mess. Loads of flags together is just psychotic.
Good design practice often includes getting rid of superfluous elements.A flag-of-flags is the opposite of that. Horrific.
Come and see the horror for yourself tonight at the Percy and then stay for the quiz at six which leads you right into the World Cup final at eight. Nice.
