I used to hate Eric Bristow because he was always trying to beat Jocky Wilson and Jocky Wilson was the hero.
Looking back now, I kinda love Bristow. He was imperious, stylish, and humorous. He was an entertainer and he understood the game. His throwing action was, let’s face it, beautiful.
Similarly, I used to hate Dido because her songs were so bland. I listen to them now and hear the beauty. I’m into it.
The ageing process delivers evolving maturity and ever changing-perspectives.
Mind you, I still hate the Lighthouse Family. I’d rather tear my ears off and barbecue them. I also hate barbecues.
This is all in lieu of me having anything relevant or sensible to say. I’m struggling this morning. Come to the quiz this evening. The only football on at that time will be Spain vs Saudi and no-one cares about that.
