There was a team at Brass Shore last night called ‘BIBLE STUDY’ and my immediate thought was that this was an ironic team name.

However, they were very well-behaved and clean young people, so maybe they WERE fans of the good book. After all, there was that team at Brass Gorgie a few months ago who were called ‘The Mormons’ and they turned out to be actual Mormons.

I have no doubt that if I’d been born in a previous era, I’d be some kind of priest. It’s pretty similar to the quizzing. You have to do some prep. You talk to a room. You have to be chatty. You have to like people.

Plus, in times of war, being a priest probably gets you out of the real trouble. And it’s pretty easy-going. Priesting certainly isn’t mining or construction or any dangerous endeavours that used to swallow up human capital in industrial accidents. And you get a house.

Belief in God? I know. But you can always wing it. No one will know.

In fact, it’s settled. If I find myself accidentally time-warped back to being born in 1872 instead of 1972 then I’m becoming a vicar.

Music Round clue for The Willow tonight:

This is Dayglow who come from the USA. This will likely be the most soy-latte thing you hear today. It’s limp, it’s weak, and it’s in the music round tonight at The Willow.
