Gilded Saloon looks, from the pictures I’ve seen, like a proper straightforward bar. Nothing too silly or fancy. You never know – it might be quite good.
It’s in the space that used to be Boteco do Brasil for the last few years. I think it was Neogitant’s when I was a kid. Can anyone remember any other names it’s traded under?
Meanwhile, according to the taxi driver last night, shoplifting is now decriminalized if the amount you steal is under £200. Police Scotland won’t send a cop. Not enough resources.
This driver said he had someone in the cab recently, a semi-professional thief, laden down with bags and bags of stolen stuff who says the decision has made his life a lot easier. He strolls out of shops now rather than having to run.
