Meanwhile, I feel a bit knackered myself.
There’s a lot of prep for the quizzes. It’s a lot of work. Checking old questions, writing new questions. updating the database, Doing the PR, making sure the equipment is OK, producing music rounds, attending to all the stationery, planning, and so on.
And that’s all before actually going out and doing the gigs.
Maybe I could be humanist celebrant instead. Same kind of gig – you stand up and talk – but with a lot less stationery and fact-checking. Certainly fewer picture rounds and music rounds.
I Googled this morning “how much you can earn as a humanist minister?”. Google says you can get £800 for a wedding. £250 for a funeral. Not bad, likes.
Better hours too. No getting home at half eleven at night. I’m going to look into it some more.
