The asterisk beside the time for the quiz at the Persevere tonight is football related.
Scotland are playing Greece in some meaningless nonsense that no one cares about. However – it will be shown in the Percy and there will be enough people interested in it to merit postponing the quiz.
This is really annoying but, more than ever, its a fact of life. Football does what it likes, the rest of us have to work around it.
Anyway – the quiz WILL go ahead right at the end of the football. The only spanner in the works is that the match is the second a two-legged encounter, so there may be extra time and penalties. This could mean not starting until closer to half past seven. In such a case, I will be doing the quiz extra fast – I’ll cut a few corners. I won’t make you stay out all night.
Anyway, as much as I love football (the actual game), I increasingly despise the televised version and I am hereby offering a bounty of A THOUSAND POUNDS to anyone who can convince UEFA / FIFA / SFA / whoever to keep all football to set times, namely 3pm on Saturdays and 7.30 on Wednesdays for Europeans and Internationals.
