I attempted to amuse myself by going to the Spartans game yesterday afternoon, as I sometimes do.
It turned out to be a good game, plenty of action and goals, a 3-2 home win, but the occasion was marred by a serious leg or ankle injury to Spartans player Paul Watson.
They couldn’t move him off the pitch and In all my years going to games, I don’t think I’ve ever been at a match which has been held up for more than half an hour (they had to wait for an ambulance)
Which also made me think that in all these years of doing quizzes (more than 25 of them), I’ve never had any serious injuries or incidents that have required stopping the quiz.
Is that lucky? Or is it just that pub quizzing is very safe?
Certainly when you compare pub quizzing to mad outdoors ways of spending your time, stuff like paragliding, parkour or golf, it’s fair to say quizzing is pretty safe.
