Ah, the weekend. I have actually had, for once, a fairly restful pair of days except for the bit on Friday where I went up to the Post Office to try and get one of those travel money cards.
The problem was ID. They wanted me to have ID but I did not have ID so I could not get what I’d come for.
What about my bank cards? What about my bus pass? Wouldn’t they suffice? Nope. Not good enough. They wanted a driving license (I don’t drive) or passport (I hadn’t carried my passport with me for a mundane trip to the city-centre).
I don’t know which crimes they are hoping to avoid by insisting of IDENTIFICATION for anyone hoping to get a Post Office payment card for holiday spending money.
I just hope Britain is safer for this approach.
Me? I’ll get it sorted on Monday.
