Taxi driver last night told me that he won £13,000 on the lottery about four years ago.
Very nice. Thirteen grand is a good number. It would make a nice difference, but it’s not enough for you to hate the guy. I was pleased for him, not even really jealous.
Earlier, on the bus, I’d seen a very bald guy who was not only super-bald but also had quite a pointy head. I wasn’t at all jealous of him. I have tremendous hair. But then again, I didn’t speak to him.
If I had spoken to pointy-headed-ultra-bald-guy, maybe I’d have found out that he’d won seven million pounds on the lottery in which case I would be seriously jealous. Proper green with envy. Seven million quid. Imagine that.
It’s a tangled web of emotions out there.
