Hey, I made a really good joke the other week and I want you to know about it.
Brass Monkey Grange: I was handing out sheets and there was a woman sitting at the bar on her own who said she’d like to do the quiz but she was heading soon to the Jazz Bar.
The guy next to her said “Stay here – there might be questions about jazz.”
And I said “Yeah, there will maybe about seven-eight jazz questions….”
Now, this is a high quality joke but, she missed it and I had to immediately go and tell it to team Paul McCartney Mall Cop who I knew would get it.
But I won’t let it go, now I’m telling you because I’m needy and want you to all think that I am very clever. I was proud of the quip. It was one of those rare occasions where you think of the right line, right in the moment, rather than half an hour later or the next morning.
It was a bit like the time I had a row in the street with a bald guy and he was getting really angry, so I told him “Keep your hair on!” Ha ha ha. That did NOT calm him down, funnily enough.
