People have all sorts of jobs I was chatting last night to Heather who is part of a semi-regular team at the Brass Grange.
Turns out she runs a decluttering business. If you give her money, she’ll come to your house and chuck a load of your stuff out,
Crazy? I don’t know – it sounds good to me.
When we moved to Greece in 2007, we sold everything and travelled with two suitcases. Everything else was sent in a medium sizes box and arrived shortly after we did.
We pretty much had our clothes, two laptops, one printer and whatever was already in the flat which was basic furniture and kitchen stuff, and about ten books.
It felt fantastic, having zero clutter and nonsense. Life was immediately more meditative. I thoroughly recommend it.
This lasted for two years and then we had a kid, moved back to Scotland, and started building stuff up again. Work and having a kid = more stuff.
I look forward to a future where I can return to such simple ways. For now, things are the way they are.
