I had STEEL from ‘Gladiators’ in the pic round last night at Monkey Drummond Street and asked for his name, adding the clue “his Gladiator name is a metal.”
Later, a fella who got the Q wrong comes up and says “steel is not a metal”. He had that nippy bearing where he’s grinning and all delighted that he’s found a mistake. He didn’t have a call to action, he just repeated “Steel isn’t a metal. It’s an alloy!”
I would have taken him more seriously if he hadn’t been so instantly abrasive.. I dismissed him, told him “of course steel is a metal” and added that he should “get a job”. I was probably pretty rude.
Anyway, I’m looking it up this morning and the internet is giving me “steel is technically not a metal, it’s a metallic alloy.”
Well, there’s the difference between technically and practically. It’s always worth remembering the difference between a pub quiz and a science lab
If you were to pick every question apart like Lawrence Logic, we’d be here all night.
Having said that, “The Gladiator’s name is a metal alloy” is actually a better clue. Question will be edited.
