I went to see a Kate Bush tribute band on Saturday night in Saint Mary’s Cathedral (the Proddy one).
It was excellent. I love Kate Bush. She was the first artist where I actively collected all their records. What I loved was the variety of subjects in the songs.
Subjects of her songs have included:
A murder-suicide at a wedding
Ancient Egypt
A bank robbery going wrong
The uselessness of knowledge
Pi
Washing Machines
Dressing up as and then becoming an actual rocket
Hitler
and so on.
Her range of subject matter reminds me of Frank Black (out of the Pixies). Together they’d make a good quiz team: a healthy variety of interests.
