There’s always a lot of detail to get right. I’ll give you one small example:
A team pointed out last week that I had spelled “Charli XCX” as “Charlie XCX”.
A quick Wikipedia check revealed that this was true enough, and this was a mistake on my part, so I made a note on my marking sheet to fix it.
A couple of days later, when processing the answer sheet for that quiz, I found the note and set about fixing the problem.
A search of the database revealed that I had six music rounds that involved Charli XCX (either as an actual answer or a decoy answer) and in four of those I had spelled her name incorrectly, adding an E where none exists.
First, I had to go into each entry in the database and delete the extra e from the records affected.
Then I had to go to the relevant picture rounds (I use MS publisher), fix those and then save them as PDFs.
Not a big deal. The whole thing took no more than 15 minutes, but I hope this gives you some idea of the lengths I go to to maintain accuracy across the board.
I’ve got roughly 21,000 active individual quiz questions in the database, plus about 500 list rounds, 600 picture rounds, 600 music rounds, over a thousand anagrams and over a thousand tiebreakers.
