The 2025 Festival/Fringe is in its last week and we can all envisage a better world which will exist this time next week.
A Quieter world, a less narcissistic world.
Tonight, I’ll be out in Gorgie which is relatively untouched by August insanity (when Oasis are not on) and then I’ll be over in Abbeyhill which is always in kind-of-Fringe-mode anyway, given the large numbers of artistic people, poets, and other subcultures who live there.
When I’m older, I don’t know if I’d rather live in a quiet village by the sea where everyone is silent and gardens are tidy, or if I’d rather be up some artsy close in the city where everyone’s trying to get you to come to their “opening”.
I honestly don’t know what would be more annoying.
Anyway, I’ve got at least another ten years of this quiz humpf ahead of me, so no need to worry about it just now…
