QUIZ NEWS: Biggest jackpot ever (well, for ages anyway) is at the Willow tonight: 7.30 pm

There were some Americans at the Safari Lounge the other night.
I didn’t want to assume, so I asked them: “Are you from the United States of America?”
“Yes” they said, with a certain look of fear in their eyes. They hastened to add “We’re from California,” presumably imagining that we will think of Californians more kindly than we would of Americans from other parts of that great country.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Dear Americans, you are ALL THE SAME as far as we are concerned. And we love every single one of you.
I realise that may sound sarky but, honestly, all the Americans I get to know are class: open-minded, friendly, polite. A very decent bunch, I reckon.
For those looking for the payoff, there is NO PUNCHLINE to this. I just wanted to say something positive.
