QUIZ NEWS: No Oz Bar tonight. Off until September (Fringe)

==========

I visit various city neighbourhoods each week in the course of doing this quiz thing. Here’s my summary:

Leith: (several nights of the week)

Vibe: Less edgy than it used to be. Gentrification, but not in a way that wholly kills the groove… yet?
Trams and buses: superb.

Would I live there: Yes.

Gorgie: (Tuesdays)

Vibe: Multi-cultural. Best food shops. Cheapest charity shops. Lively.

Buses: choked.

Would I live there: Maybe.

Abbeyhill:(also Tuesdays)

Vibe: Artsy. Always someone setting up a pottery collective and eating Tempura. Buses: swift and fiery, especially the ones that go via Regent Road.

Would I live there: Yeah

Grange: (Thursdays)

Vibe: Posh. Dinner parties where people talk about getting the builders in to do an extension.

Buses: Choked up South Bridge/Nicolson St. A bit slow.

Would I live there: Probs not.

City Centre: (Various nights)

Vibe: Tourist hell. Crawling pavement pace. Drunken stags and hens. Gawping yanks.

Buses: Amazing,

Would I live there: No. Kill me now.

Where in the city would you live, if you could live anywhere?

Meanwhile: it’s Wednesday:

With quiz and love,

Music Round clue for West Port Oracle tonight:

This is U2 and one of their humdrum modern songs, which appears in the music round tonight at the West Port Oracle. No one would care about this song unless it was U2, but U2 fans are like Trump fans. They WILL adore the object of their affection, no matter what. The youtube comments for this video are all “this is the greatest song ever” and “Larry hasn’t aged a day” I mean, they look good, but they are clearly old men now. And the song is unarguably bland. However – credit to U2 for career longevity. Cannae argue with that.
