Tonight sees the first of two whopping end-of-year jackpots and it’s £250 at the Newsroom:
Last time this happened at Newsroom was April 2022. Thing about the Newsroom is that there are usually enough contestants at the Newsroom to ensure that the money gets won after 2 or 3 weeks at most.
The opposite of this phenomenon is the Hot Toddy where we’ve only been going since September and hit £200+ twice now, with a big mad £250 Hogmanay Jackpot this coming Sunday
Rollovers are more common at the Toddy because of smaller numbers of quizzers.
I think Sunday afternoon at 1pm is a great time for a quiz. The nature of the slot means you can come out and enjoy a quiz without the pressure of it being a late night out.
But it’s not exactly been mobbed at Hot Toddy on Sunday afternoons. And, as a result, there have been frequent rollovers and it brings us to a point where we have two x £250 jackpots IN A ROW. Newsroom tonight and Hot Toddy on Sunday.
Don’t be afraid to hunt the pot
I was chatting to a regular team last week who were saying
“oh – we fancy the big pot but we don’t want to just turn up when it’s a big pot, cos it will look like we’re just chasing the pot”
