I love Spotify. It’s the only direct debit I actively enjoy paying out.
I used the feature this morning where you pick one song, play it, and then Spotify chooses a bunch of songs afterwards that fit the same mood.
I started with ‘Never Trust A Stranger’ by Kim Wilde and then Spotify served a straight hour of massive pop bangers sitting on just the right fault line between power and melancholy. Utterly fantastic.
They say immortality is a curse but if I could be immortal and just listen to pop music forever, I would take that deal.
As things stand, I AM mortal and I run quizzes. But at least I get to play pop music in between the questions.
