I’ve had quite a noisy week. Everyone round here seems be on the power tools.
Can you imagine a time before the industrial revolution? It’s not too long ago: a couple of hundred years. There would have been no drills. No hedge trimmers. No sirens. no cars. No car alarms. There would be occasionally loud work getting done but it would all be muscle-powered and it would at least have to have a break sometimes.
Machines never vary their output and the never rest. Hedge trimmer goes at a solid 500 rpm. Hedge trimmer never gets a day off.
Relentless.
