As humans, we actively categorise things. If we didn’t, there wouldn’t be a quiz. It’s a human thing. You don’t see caribou or elks holding quizzes. It’s because they don’t categorise.

Here are some categories:

CATEGORY 1: THINGS THAT ARE NOT AS GOOD AS THEY USED TO BE

  • Football
  • The Charts
  • The Darts (Lakeside BDO championship atmosphere)
  • Airports
  • The specific feeling of delayed gratification that resulted from hearing your favourite song finally come on the radio because there was not other way to hear it other than go and buy the record.
  • Jeux Sans Frontieres

CATEGORY 2: THINGS THAT ARE BETTER THAN THEY USED TO BE

  • Internet connection speed
  • Public access to the means of broadcasting
  • The Darts (player quality)
  • Non-smoking in public areas being the norm
  • Pop Music (the sheer range).
  • Kettles

THINGS THAT ARE JUST THE SAME AS THEY USED TO BE

  • Doing the dishes
  • Elephants
  • Staplers
  • The moon
  • Politicians

There you go, I catgorised life for you. If you see me at the quiz tonight, you can thank me in person.

Music Round Clue For Brass Drummond Tonight:

This is in the music round at Brass Monkey Drummond St tonight and it’s PETER AND GORDON. The ginger fella is Peter Asher and he was the brother of Jane Asher who was going out with Paul McCartney at the time. So Paul McCartney let Peter have the song, as a gift (and also because he didn’t think it was good enough for The Beatles). It turned into a million-seller and was number one in the UK and America. There’s a wee Sixties Story for you.

Meanwhile
