So, the quiz at the Cross Borders Brewery is every fortnight.
We’re mainly into weekly quizzes so fortnightly is not what we’re used to, but the only thing inevitable in life is change itself.
This means I have to remember to do an email every second Friday. In the past, Friday has never been a quiz day so my Friday mornings have tended to be pretty loose after a Mon-Thu week of desk-intensity.
Typically on Fridays, I’ll do the dishes, clean the kitchen. Draw something. Maybe even go for a walk and end up getting a bacon roll somewhere.
As soon as I wake up and take a few seconds to work out what day it is, and I realise it’s Friday, the pressure is OFF. Happy reverie. A few empty hours. A loose pillowcase of a day.
But this life of ease and pleasure is at an end. Now I have to REMEMBER to do the email when it’s a quiz Friday. But look at me typing – I have remembered!
Then I have to think of something to write but it seems I’m four or five paragraphs into this already, so it looks like this email has written itself. Hey. Life’s not so bad.
All I have to add about the Crossborders gig tonight is that reports of the first quiz two weeks ago were positive. Brigid said the vibe was good. She’s sharing the gig with Isla, they’re taking turn-about, so it’ll be Isla in charge tonight and there was no jackpot winner two weeks ago, so you’re playing for A HUNDRED POUNDS tonight.
Yeah.
