OK – the festival means that Brass Monkey Drummond Streeet is not happening for the next few weeks but the late Monday quiz will return on August 20th.
Basically, the pub is just too busy at that time to do the quiz and a large majority of people who come in only do so for 1 pint = 10/15 minutes, so the quiz doesn’t really work.
So I get half a Monday night off for the next few weeks. How about that!

And the adults around me all loved the song. The whole scenario made me think that the older generation were stupid.
I like the tune a little bit more now, to the point where I can listen to it all the way through without becoming angry. I’m more into the musicality of it, and I can ignore the story which I still think is a jealous whine. But I can tolerate the folk sound a lot more.
I infer from this change that I must be getting old.
Anyway – it’s in the music round at the Brass Leith tonight and if you despise the song as much as I used to, just remember the clip is only about 15 seconds long.
