The music round free answer for tonight at the Argyle is legendary German bandleader: James Last, aka “The Gentleman of Music”.

James Last died in 2015 and it is one of my life’s regrets that I never saw him perform live with his famous Orchestra. Luckily he made plenty of recordings.

Some artists are lucky to release 65 SONGS. James last had 65 ALBUMS which reached the UK charts. He is the most phenomenally successful musician that you’ve never heard of.

His UK success is outstripped by his popularity in Germany where he was awarded 200 gold discs and 14 platinum discs.

His style is loose and tight at the same time and is the greatest music ever made. If you don’t like James Last it’s because you are an idiot.
