Vegans Lose Tiebreak As Heart Rules Head

I had a tiebreaker situation at the Tolbooth Tavern the other night with a nearest-the-bull style question:

How many turkeys are killed and eaten for Christmas every year in the UK?

There were two normal teams in the tiebreaker and one team containing vegans.

Afraid of upsetting the kelp-munchers in their group, the vegan-influenced wrote down “600,000” knowing all the time the answer was probably higher.

Of course the answer was 10 million and one of the other teams won the tiebreak and the £120.

Moral: The world is not always what you wish it to be.
