9pm – Brass Monkey, Drummond Street. Jackpot £60. Cheat: Harry Styles (pic round)

If you’re worrying about Brexit, don’t.

Everything is going to be OK.

And if you are genuinely worried, ask yourself what the worse is that could happen?

Maybe you get deported. Hey – that’s just another word for taking a sabbatical.

Maybe your wife could be deported? Well, we can all dream.

In the meantime the only certainy is that if you don’t come to the quiz then you can’t win the quiz.

This is the kind of step–by-step thinking that’s going to get us through the hard times together. Come, let’s dance.

Speaking of dance, tonight’s music round at the Joker includes the a nineties dance pop classic by Felix.

Listen to this all the way through and I challenge not to rave, at least for half a minute.

Eighties culture UK

Actually – I tihnk it’s a live vocal – it doesn’t sound exactly like the record. But all the way, either way – it’s all good.

Do remember what it was like to first properly rave? Freed to dance -seemingly in eternity. Smoke machines. No booze. Great stuff.

See you later,

Wednesday Gives You THREE Quiz Choices

Two quizzes from me and one from Gordon down at Harmonium – the vegan pub in Leith.

7pm – The Joker & The Thief. Jackpot £150. Cheat answer – Denmark is one of the picture round answers.

8pm – Harmonium. Jackpot £30. Cheat answer – One of the music round answers is Inner Circle, see vid below to hear the song

9pm – Brass Monkey, Drummond Street. Jackpot £30 Cheat answer – the music round contains an old rave-pop banger by Felix, see vid below

The Inner Circle song is a special kind of awful. It’s a song that doesn’t like it’s about anal sex but probably actually is.

The Felix song is a perfect example of the rave-pop which ruled the charts in 1992. Totally cool.

Whichever quiz you choose tonight: be nice to each other when you get there. It was world kindness day this week, apparently.

I don’t go for that yoghurt-eating, yoga-crunching, hipster bullshit but if you are trying to be kind to each other and you actually need a special day to be able to pull this off…. then good luck!
