Tonight’s quizzes :
6pm – The Persevere. Jackpot: £90. Cheat: Portuguese(pic round)
8pm – Tolbooth Tavern. Jackpot: £60. Cheat: Doves (music round)
It’s November which means dark nights and young men growing unconvincing moustaches to raise awareness of facial hair, or something.
Come and escape from this double stupidity tonight by coming to the quiz, drinking lager (or preferred tipple) and getting wired into the quiz.
By the way, here’s the audio cheat for tonight which refers to the music round at the Tolbooth Tavern:
This is an average-sounding song but I like the video and the way it’s shot which appears to show some kind of nervous breakdown or psychotropic experience from the inside. Nice merges or British Rail and Rio carnival.
“Did you enjoy the rugby?”
That’s the kind of question people ask when they are the kind of people who care about rugby.
The best thing about the Rugby World Cup this year is that all the matches have been played in some crazy Japanese time zone which means that it has had NO IMPACT WHATSOEVER on the quizzes.
No growlers in the pub, no big screen action taking over the room. Nice.
All World Cups should be like this. Rugby, football, cricket, netball, judo, Cluedo.
Hold them all in the Pacific, hold them first thing in (our) morning and gie’s peace.
What a wonderful world it would be.
See you tonight
