Last week saw the first quiz at The Strathie. It’s on Iona Street, just off Leith Walk and very close to the Brass Monkey Leith.
Going to the quiz at the Strathie offers some key advantages:
- Easier to Win. There are Less teams. The first quiz last week was FIVE teams. SO better chances to win than at Joker or Brass which are nearer to TWENTY teams
- Cheaper booze. The Strathie is old-style. It’s been recently refurb’d but it is proper old-style. Booze is CHEAPER in the past and the Strathie is an actual TIME MACHINE!

Cheat Clue
Here is the cheat clue for tonight’s music round at the Strathie. It’s old boyband One True Voice who didn’t last long.
So, OTV split up before they could even release an album. Their “years active” are given by Wiki as 2002-03 and they charted with exactly two singles.
The one here was their top hit – it got to number two and sold over a quarter of a million copies (this is before downloads) and it’s a perfectly decent song but then it was written by the Bee Gees, so that’ll explain it’s lack of shiteness.
Wikipedia has a handy where-are-they-now section on the OTV page. One of them is working as Dizzee Rascal’s backing singer. One of them works at the BBC doing PR for Doctor Who.
Showbiz is all about the thrills.
