trivial pursuit board

Thursday 4th July

Quizzes Tonight:

7pm – Argyle Bar (Cellar). Jackpot £30. Cheat answer: Mexico (pic round)

7.30pm – Ship Inn, Musselburgh. Jackpot £60. Cheat answer: Jefferson Airplane (music round) – no Ship In Quiz this week – Kerry is on holiday

9pm – The Newsroom. Jackpot £100. Cheat answer: Aaliyah(music round).

No Ship Inn quiz tonight as Kerry is on holiday but my quizzes are on as usual.

Anyway: here’s the music round cheat. This applies to the Newsroom: It’s Aaliyah in the year 2000, which is before she died at the age of 22 the following year.

Actual hippies from back in the day

I’ve lived twice her lifetime and NEVER had a Top 40 hit. She had 14 Top 40 hits in the UK chart. And three more AFTER she died. Probably loads more in America and other territories.

Obviously life’s not fair, but sometimes it’s hard to tell which way round.

It must have seemed unfair for Team Spirit when I hadn’t heard of a song by Herman’s Hermits called ‘Sunshine Girl’ when we had a songs-with-weather-in-the-title bonus round last night.

But the rule is that we hadn’t heard of it so it didn’t count, even when research reveals that they were right all along.

These are the rules. I guess the rules are that some of us don’t have our own Top 40 Hits and some of us die when we’re 22.

Come to the quiz!

Cheers,

Dr Paul

By the way: Dr Paul is on Twitter and Dr Paul also is on instagram. Enjoy.
